Front End Technical LeadPermanent, London
The role of the Front End Technical Lead is primarily to set the front end technical direction for the business, and to help shape and grow the front end team.
In addition to hands on front end development, you’ll also be responsible for technical line management, front end architecture, defining and implementing processes and tooling, and conducting code reviews.
You’ll work and consult on various stages of the project lifecycle including: feeding into proposals, scoping and estimating, system architecture, client workshops, design sprints, development, testing, maintenance, and quality assurance.
The ideal candidate will be a experienced senior front end developer with a proven track record in agency environments, comfortable working on agile projects, and able to estimate and deliver work reliably and consistently. The candidate should have a strong understanding of progressive enhancement, accessibility and semantic markup and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, cross-browser compatible templates.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in both a technical and business domain are vital for this role. The candidate should also be excellent at self-managing with an ability to multi-task and stay organised.

Comfortable with being on site to work alongside our clients as required during project engagement.
We expect candidates will have experience with a reasonable number of the following and be able to quickly and effectively fill any gaps in their knowledge where required
- Solutions architecture.
- CSS3 & SASS.
- Front-end build processes and tools.
- Responsive web design.
- Cross-browser/device testing
- Experience building for Content Management Systems
- Git / GitFlow
- An understanding of common software design patterns.
- Templating languages (JSP, PHP, Razor).
Nice to have
- A precise understanding of HTTP, HTML, JSON, XML.
- A user centric, evidence based approach to IA and UI.
- Goal oriented requirements engineering.
- REST APIs
- Experience working with one or more back end technologies.
A degree in a science, engineering, technology or mathematics field or equivalent industry experience.
