The candidate should have experience building web applications, a strong understanding of progressive enhancement, accessibility and semantic markup and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, cross-browser compatible solutions.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in both a technical and business domain are vital for this role. The candidate should also be excellent at self-managing with an ability to multi-task and stay organised, keeping the appropriate project team appraised of progress and escalating where appropriate.
We expect candidates will have experience with a reasonable number of the following and be able to quickly and effectively fill any gaps in their knowledge where required.
- Good knowledge of API development and integration
- An understanding of common software design patterns
- React and Redux (or equivalent frameworks)
- Responsive Web Design
- Cross-browser/device testing
Nice to have
- Experience with one or more back end technologies
- Experience with IIIF
- Test Driven Development
- Web performance
- A degree in a science, engineering, technology or mathematics field

Each individual's RDL programme is unique and designed in collaboration with your line manager. You might spend this time doing formal certification, contributing to open source software or evaluating a new technology or mastering a framework you already know.
