Project Alpha - a collaboration with The National Archives
Digirat were appointed by The National Archives (TNA) to embark on a new project that aimed to re-imagine what a modern, accessible archive website should look like; addressing the many challenges users often have understanding the context of an archive online.
Taking inspiration from alpha.gov.uk (which led to GOV.UK), TNA were looking for an expert partner to explore, shape, co-create, build and test, in public, a series of prototypes for a new website. These were going to be shaped by user needs, following service design principles and making the best use of modern technologies.
This exciting project is encapsulated in a case study (https://cultural-heritage.digirati.com/our-work/the-national-archives/) on our cultural heritage microsite. It provides more details, and links to a rich set of blogs, that walk through the project process and outputs.
