We've won a Webby!
The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art digitised 250 volumes of the Exhibition Catalogue for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, from 1769 to 2018, and commissioned in-depth scholarly articles for each year of the exhibition to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the Summer Exhibition. Digirati were commissioned to build the online version of this project collaborating with visual designers Strick and Williams.
This is the first IIIF website to win a Webby and also includes innovative use of OCR, Natural Language Processing and Named Entity Recognition. It was possible to provide all of this advanced technology due to the underlying infrastructure: our Digital Library Cloud Service.
Congratulations to the team who worked so hard to bring this ambitious project in on time and many thanks to those who voted.
