This project involved a full re-design and re-platforming of the National Theatre website to promote new productions and handle the booking process as well as other ecommerce functions such as restaurant bookings and book sales.
The new design is a more tool-based approach making it easier to find productions and related promotions. The booking process is also very intuitive including a rather neat interface to select a seat.
The service-orientated architecture was designed to perform well under peak booking times. It uses Drupal to deliver the website with transactions handled by a .NET service tier fronting the Tessitura ticketing CRM and other back-end systems.
